TuitionCare and the Foundation for Catholic Education

TuitionCare is one of many programs run by the Foundation For Catholic Education, which focuses on supporting Parish and Regional Catholic Schools so that all families can afford a Catholic Education for their children.  With the support of businesses and individuals like you, we have been able to provide $5,000,000 to schools and families over the past 8 years!

What is TuitionCare?

TuitionCare is an innovative and ground breaking program developed by the Foundation For Catholic Education. This program financially benefits both local Catholic Schools and families with students in Catholic Schools throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Each Saint Agnes School family can receive up to $1,000 in tuition credits through the TuitionCare program each year!

How does it work?

It’s simple!  TuitionCare takes advantage of programs offered by the State of Pennsylvania that allow individuals to redirect some or all of your state income tax obligation to support Catholic Education! Click here to learn more.

How do I participate in TuitionCare?

TuitionCare is easy!  It just takes a few quick steps...

  1. Review your PA-40 Tax form to understand your current Tax liability.  This amount (on line 12) represents the tax dollars you can redirect to the Foundation for Catholic Education to support TuitionCare.

  2. Join the TuitionCare Special Purpose Entity (SPE).  Sign a commitment form here with your contribution amount and send it to the Foundation for Catholic Education Mr. Joseph McGinn at jmcginn@Foundationforcatholiceducation.org. No payment is required until the Tax Credit is approved by the state.

  3. The Foundation for Catholic Education submits the SPE application to the State of PA on July 1, 2020.

  4. The State of PA notifies the SPE of approval in the November 2020 time frame. The Foundation will notify all SPE members of the approval status.  SPE Operational Agreement is signed.  If approved, SPE members remit their contributions to the SPE within 30 days. If the SPE is not approved, the SPE members are not required to make the payment, the SPE may apply again the following year.

  5. SPE members complete their PA-40 Tax form and enter their EITC / OSTC tax credit (Found on Form K-1).  The Tax credit is 90% of the SPE members contribution as approved by the State of PA.  The Tax credit is a reduction in your PA Tax liability for 2019 (Line 23 of PA 40).

The students of Saint Agnes School thank you for your commitment to Catholic Education!
